It is a Monday morning, time to go on a date with Tosyn Bucknor on Top Morning. This morning, the program went the Energetic way, meaning that Area Mama took it on a spirited note. You’ll agree with me that she has a way of taking us to the peak. This morning, she started by giving a brief on how her weekend unfolded. After which, following the usual routine, the program kicks off with ‘Area’, allowing people to call in and give an update of the weather and traffic reports in their areas.

The traffic in Ilisan, Badagry, Sagamu, Akute, Alagbado, Iju, Coker and Ikeja wasn’t too bad for a Monday morning. On the other hand, the traffic at Ikorodu, Ojodu, Alagbole, Sabo, Iyana-Ipaja, Third Mainland Bridge, Cement and Mile 12 wasn’t quite encouraging. The reports about the traffic wasn’t that bad either.

She also fed us some information about the newly-introduced Verve Interswitch card. The interswitch card is safe, fast and efficient. It ensures safety by giving an sms alert each time a withdrawal is being made. It also has a Fraud Alert Security System and Fraud Insurance. It has a professional team that investigates and manages issues apart from rewarding constant customers by enabling them to buy goods free of charge. It is available in banks.

The Yarn-Free Zone wasn’t a naija music affair. Rather, it was about songs like: Paranoid by Kanye West; Knocks you down by Keri Hilson, featuring Kanye West and Ne-yo; the last song came from Ne-yo with Mad.

Thereafter, it was time to travel down memory lane but this time, we travelled by into the future. The topic that was up for discussion today is: ‘what are the things that were intricate aspects of your life that you think your grandchild or next generation would never believe existed?’ there were various hilarious responses that came in. Some people said that some of their siblings don’t believe that there was ever a time when television came only in black and white and people had to wait till 4pm before they could watch T.V; that in Abeokuta, they used to announce before there will be an interruption in power supply; used stamped love letters to woo a girl instead of twitting with the girl.

Some even said that they don’t think their grandchildren will ever believe that at a point before, Policemen used to collect bribes on the road; that people used to jump off commercial buses after shouting: ‘owa o’; taking dark slates and chalks to school instead of books and electronic gadgets; using rotary dial phones before the advent of GSM phones; a time when ‘ice water’ were the popular thing, not sachet water or the bottled ones that have now become popular; and the use of ‘pako’- traditional tree branches instead of the normal toothbrushes for brushing.

Top 9 Moments with Aramide came up with some news about Barak Obama. It was said that he falsified the information in his birth certificate and that he really isn’t an American citizen like he claimed. There was also some news about Coach Jose Mourinho of Inter Milan, stating that he is satisfied with the balance of his squad. This he said, referring to the swap between Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It was also said that a sum of 5.5 million dollars was recovered for MJ’s estate from one of his former financial advisers.

As part of the package for ‘Energetic Monday’, there was a question about who should bear the responsibility for the kind of music that is played by the media. Is the producers, artistes, the media or the listeners? There were several responses with people pointing accusing fingers at the media; some others cast aspersions on the listeners. Yet, some others blamed the producers and the artistes.

It was on this note that the show ended today.
