Energetic Monday

It is energetic Monday once again with Tosyn Bucknor. It is the program that sets the pace for a week-long Top of the Morning experience with Tosyn Bucknor. After a long weekend, there couldn’t have been a better way to start a new week than to do it the ‘Area’ way. The program started at 6:00 am and Area Mama took the floor at 6:45 am, receiving reports from people about their areas till 7:45am.
People from places like Marina, Agege, Ojota, Ikeja, and far away in Ile-Ife did not have it good with the traffic this morning. More so, there was huge load of complain about the traffic at Cement this morning. Conversely, people from Ogba, Ojodu Berger, Ado-Ekiti, Ikorodu and Maryland to say they enjoyed a smooth ride from around various destinations this morning. The weather reports that came in were not too bad for a Monday morning.
At 8:00am, it was time to enter the Yarn-Free Zone. This is the corner the music does all the talking. For today, it wasn’t Classic Naija songs. Rather, it was three interesting songs from Lil Mama, Hudson and Maria Carey. It was worthwhile. At 8:30, it was time to travel down memory lane. The idea this morning was to find out the pet that people owned back in the days and what the relationship was like. It was obviously different strokes for different folks as people called in to say that they had pets like dogs, cats, snail, ram, and ducks. Incredible, isn’t it?
At 9:00am, it was time for Top 9 Moments with Aramide. She came in with amazing stories today. Among these is Debbie Rowe’s {M.J.’s wife} confession that her reason for marrying M.J. was in order to avoid the taboo of having children outside wedlock. Next was the interesting bit of information about Ne-yo, the popular musician who cried after he lost his voice on the stage while he was performing for a large audience. Another interesting story was that of 2 Nigerian writers who won at the Multi-Choice African Journalist of the Year Award.
After the Top 9 Moments, Tosyn read out the winners of the 2009 edition of Emmy Awards. Not too long thereafter, it was time to call it quits on the program for the day.
